Scholarships for students from China for 2010 entry have now been confirmed. The scholarships on offer for students from China are as follows:

*Faculty Undergraduate Scholarships*
The University of Sheffield offer scholarships to all international undergraduate students commencing their studies in the Faculties of Engineering, Pure Science and the School of Law in September 2010, as follows:

* Engineering International Scholarships 2010 - £2000 per year
* Pure Science International Scholarships 2010 - £2000 per year
* Law International Scholarships 2010 - £1500 per year

These scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required in first or subsequent years. The scholarships will be awarded unconditionally in the first year of studies but award in subsequent years of study is subject to the achievement of 60% overall average mark. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

*China Merit Undergraduate Scholarships (£6,500)*
There are two China Merit Scholarships available for Chinese students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2010.

Each scholarship is worth £6,500 of the undergraduate course tuition fee per year. The scholarships will take the form of a fee reduction.

To be eligible for the China Merit Undergraduate Scholarship 2010, applicants must be a Chinese national or permanently domiciled in China, apply for a study place by 25 June 2010 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2010.

The China Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2010 is awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2010 onwards.


*China Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2010 (£6,500)*
There are 2 China Merit Postgraduate Scholarships available which will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Each scholarship is worth £6,500 of the postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee for one year of study, and will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

To be eligible for the China Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2010, applicants must be a Chinese national or permanently domiciled in China, apply for a study place by 25 June 2010 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2010
